Pros
- Switches among three Bluetooth devices and one 2.4 GHz connection
- Full-size layout with a dedicated number pad
- Rechargeable through USB-C
- Compatible with major desktop and mobile operating systems
- Low-profile scissor-switch design
Cons
- Wide layout is inconvenient for travel and small desks
- Plastic construction lacks a premium feel
- 2.4 GHz receiver requires a USB-A port or adapter
- No confirmed backlighting or advanced key-remapping software
Bottom line
The TECKNET KB005 is a sensible choice for a desk shared among a PC, laptop, tablet, and phone. Its four-device switching, number pad, rechargeable battery, and broad operating-system support are useful, but the wide plastic body and USB-A receiver make it less appealing for travel or USB-C-only setups.
Buy this if
- You regularly move between as many as four computers or mobile devices.
- You want Bluetooth plus a dedicated 2.4 GHz connection for a desktop or smart TV.
- Your work involves spreadsheets or data entry and you need a number pad.
- You prefer rechargeable hardware instead of replacing disposable batteries.
Skip if
- You want a small keyboard that slips easily into a laptop bag.
- Your computer has only USB-C ports and you plan to use the 2.4 GHz receiver without an adapter.
- You need mechanical switches, programmable keys, or confirmed backlighting.
- You want a premium metal chassis rather than a plastic keyboard.
Layout, noise, and how it connects
Input gear is chosen on three things spec sheets bury: how loud it is around other people, how much desk it eats, and how cleanly it pairs with the machines you actually use.
What this listing states
- Bluetooth — listedNo dongle to lose and no USB port used — the better choice on a port-starved laptop.
- 2.4GHz receiver — listedThe most reliable low-latency option, at the cost of one USB-A port.
- Rechargeable battery — listedOne less battery to buy, one more cable in the rotation. Replaceable AAs often run for months.
- Mechanical switches — listedBetter feel and durability, and typically louder unless the listing specifies silent switches.
- Number pad — listedEssential for spreadsheet work, and the single biggest thing costing you desk width.
- Quiet switches — not listedThe difference between usable and unbearable in a shared room or on a video call.
- Ergonomic shape — not listedWorth considering if you already feel wrist or forearm strain by the end of a working day.
Match it to your desk and your day
- On calls often? Avoid clicky switches entirely — look for silent linear switches or a quality membrane board.
- Desk narrower than about four feet (120cm), or you use a wide mouse sweep? A 75% or tenkeyless layout buys back real room.
- Count your free USB-A ports before choosing a receiver model; modern thin laptops often have none.
- Switching between a laptop and a tablet all day? Multi-device pairing saves more time than any switch type.
- If you type all day, key height and wrist angle will matter more in a month than switch feel does today.

Performance & everyday use
The main reason to consider this TECKNET is connection flexibility. The listing specifies three Bluetooth channels plus one 2.4 GHz mode, allowing switching among four paired devices. Bluetooth covers laptops, tablets, phones, and other compatible hardware, while the USB-A receiver provides an option for devices without Bluetooth. The listing claims operation within 15 meters, but that is not an independently measured result; walls, interference, and receiver placement can affect wireless reliability.
Its 110-key layout includes a number pad and uses low-profile scissor switches with a listed 2 mm of key travel. That combination should feel more familiar to laptop-keyboard users than a tall mechanical board. Scissor switches are generally suited to office typing, but key feel and noise remain subjective, and the listing does not provide measured actuation force or sound levels.
TECKNET lists compatibility with Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android, along with devices such as PCs, iPads, smartphones, and smart TVs. Buyers who rely on platform-specific shortcuts should verify the key legends and function behavior on Amazon, since the supplied details do not explain every operating-system mapping.
Build, comfort & setup
At 17.13 by 5.12 by 0.57 inches, this is a slim but wide desk keyboard rather than a compact travel model. The silver-and-gray housing is plastic. Finger-shaped keycaps may help guide placement, but the comfort claim is not a substitute for adjustable ergonomics or a split layout.
Setup should involve selecting a wireless mode and pairing the appropriate channel. Charging uses the supplied USB-C cable, while the receiver connection is USB-A. The listing specifies a 500 mAh battery and claims up to 180 days from about a two-hour charge based on two hours of daily use. Real runtime will vary with usage and sleep behavior. The keyboard enters sleep mode after 30 minutes of inactivity. It is described as spill-resistant, but no IP rating is provided, so it should not be treated as waterproof.
Value & alternatives
The KB005 offers strong practical value when one keyboard needs to control several device types. Simpler single-device keyboards may be the better choice if you never switch computers, while premium alternatives can add metal construction, stronger customization software, backlighting, or more ergonomic layouts. Check Amazon for the current price and support terms; the advertised three-year support requires registration.
Verdict
The TECKNET KB005 earns a recommendation for multi-device desks where wireless flexibility and a number pad matter more than portability or premium materials. Its specifications cover the essentials well, but buyers should accept a broad plastic design, limited disclosed customization, and a receiver that expects USB-A.
